Won’t be on much this week
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Just so everyone won’t be wondering where I went, I won’t be on very much for the remainder of this week.
We are moving to a new house, but we are not moved in yet, and my ISP switched our service over to the new house early this morning.
I’m currently typing this from my laptop at that house, just FYI. My home server, hellow.homeunix.org, went down with my connection too. It won’t be back up until I get everything set back up at our new house.
Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

UDS – Did you enjoy it?
Friday, November 20th, 2009For the last week the Ubuntu community has been holding the Ubuntu Developer Summit for Lucid Lynx in Dallas, Texas. Sadly, with school and all, I could not attend, although I very much wanted to.
For those of you that did attend, did you enjoy it? Did you learn anything new there? What was your favorite part of it?

Black Friday 2009 Sites
Friday, November 20th, 2009I thought that, with Black Friday 2009 coming up, it would be a good time to suggest a couple of sites related to Black Friday.
Gottadeal’s Black Friday Site
This is a good one, they even have their own forums in place.
BFAds
This one, from what I can see, also has a community.
Engadget also made a good Black Friday post: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/14/black-friday-deals-bonanza-round-up/
Mashable also made a good post on using Social Media to find the best Black Friday deals: http://mashable.com/2009/11/20/black-friday-social-media/
And, last but not least, the relevant Twitter hashtag searches:
#blackfriday
#blackfriday2009 (less active than #blackfriday)
Slightly off the primary topic of the post, there is a good Thanksgiving hashtag going on too: #thanksgiving
Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving holiday,
Collin Pruitt
