Commenting and all plugins have been disabled on the old blog; I’m leaving the old blog up for as long as it will stay up. All new posting will occur at my new blog. If you need a RSS or Atom feed, they are in the footer of the new blog.

Just FYI, the new blog is running Jekyll.

Ubuntu Forums Unanswered Posts Team Update

This Sunday, I have done quite a many things in relation to the Ubuntu Forums Unanswered Posts Team, the team I colead. The two biggest ones are:

The addition of a official Twitter feed with associated bot placed in the IRC chat. All UA members and others interested are suggested to follow @uateam and/or subscribe to the RSS feed provided by Twitter

The addition of a official team news blog at http://ua.codechunk.net/blog . All UA members are requested to subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom of the page or, if your RSS reader does not like the method the software uses to publish feeds, you can subscribe to the Feedburner feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/UbuntuForumsUnansweredPostsTeamNews . All further news on the team is to be published there. Keep in mind that the news blog is on my home server so, if it gets taken out, so will the feed. The Feedburner feed will remain, though.

That should be all for now. For those subscribed to the Launchpad Team mailing list, you will be getting a post in your email inboxes sometime later tonight.

Christmas Online

With the holiday season in full swing, I felt it would be a good idea to post about some good online resources for Christmas planning and the like.

http://northpole.com/ – This site has a lot of good resources for parents and activities for younger children.

http://www.youtube.com/holidaysolutions – This Youtube channel resulted from a partnership between Youtube and Target. The channel contains many videos on party and gift ideas, recipes, etc.

http://www.allthingschristmas.com/ – This site has many ideas around decorations, games, etc. It even has it’s own forum community.

Twitter also has a few good hashtags going for the holidays. See #Christmas and #holidays.

Won’t be on much this week

Just so everyone won’t be wondering where I went, I won’t be on very much for the remainder of this week.

We are moving to a new house, but we are not moved in yet, and my ISP switched our service over to the new house early this morning.

I’m currently typing this from my laptop at that house, just FYI. My home server, hellow.homeunix.org, went down with my connection too. It won’t be back up until I get everything set back up at our new house.

For the last week the Ubuntu community has been holding the Ubuntu Developer Summit for Lucid Lynx in Dallas, Texas. Sadly, with school and all, I could not attend, although I very much wanted to.
For those of you that did attend, did you enjoy it? Did you learn anything new there? What was your favorite part of it?

Wordpress Lifestream Plugin

I’ve been toying with the Wordpress Lifestream Plugin, but I kept ramming into the same problem with my template approach to doing it: I couldnt get it to work correctly with my theme.
Then I though of something: You have to place the “” line inside of div tags with the ID of “content” for the lifestream to be shown as content.
